Conjuring a Ghost Road

This new poetry collection offers a many-dimensional view of lands in the Saugeen Territory, the 'high plain' of southwestern Ontario, now a part of Grey County.

In a small world surrounding the former Nenagh schoolhouse, Antony Christie finds inspiration in an improvised vineyard, in making needed repairs to the well, and in encounters with turkey vultures, smelt, and fireflies.

Birding Inverhuron Provincial Park

From Indigenous peoples of long ago to today’s campers, the area of Inverhuron Provincial Park has attracted people to the Lake Huron shoreline.

Birds come here for habitats from shallow waters to mixed forests, riverbanks, and sand dunes. Their songs accompany walkers exploring trails,
beach, and the restored pioneer cemetery.

The Position of My Heart
A Love Story Expressed in Poetry

On Valentines Day 2024, The Brucedale Press joyfully announces a new collection of poems by Jennifer Frankum. To be released during April, it's a fitting celebration of Poetry Month.

In lines of whimsy and heart, the writer offers fresh ways of expressing both universal minutiae and unexpected realizations. Tracing the richness of a love story that began with moving of furniture, she explores her roles in family and classrooms with poems ranging from exuberant to quiet and thought-provoking.

An accomplished observer of human foibles, Jennifer is retired from a 29-year teaching career at Saugeen District secondary School. She and her husband live in Port Elgin, where she is often seen at a keyboard in the local library, or with pen and notebook in a coffee shop.
