A boy entrant in the RAF, Andrew Cox was already qualified aircrew when World War II broke out. After more than 40 successful missions, he was shot down over Germany, and spent nearly five years as a prisoner of war. His memoirs of that time are presented in Our Spirit Unbroken, released in October 1999.
After serving a further thirteen years with the RAF, Andrew Cox returned to Canada with his wife and family. As an electronics technician, he worked in Nova Scotia (the province of his birth) and in Ontario. Students at the Waterloo and Guelph campuses of Conestoga College remember him as the instructor who helped them through the maze of electronics courses.
