Lynne Porter

Lynne Porter was born near Oxenden, a fifth-generation descendant of immigrants from the United Kingdom. She currently lives at the edge of that village with her husband, Ron. Her deep roots inspired a keen interest in the history of family, friends, and neighbours who settled at Oxenden and area. Lynne’s research led her to discover strong connections between pioneer families through marriages, which blossomed into a community where descendants still meet cousins at every turn.

Several of Lynne’s short stories have been published in The Leaf by The Brucedale Press, one selected first in their acrostic story contest. Our Family Farm, a collection of stories published by Brucedale in 2014, includes The Gravel Pit by Lynne.
